Overview

The EcoFlow 160W Lightweight Portable Solar Panel is a step up from the 110W, delivering more power for buyers who want faster top-ups for their portable power station without committing to a larger 220W panel. Weighing just 3.8kg, it stays travel-friendly and packs flat for transport in a campervan, motorhome, ute, or car boot, ready to deploy in seconds whenever you need solar charging on the road.

An integrated 30 to 60 degree adjustable stand and built-in solar angle guide make it easy to point the panel at the sun without extra accessories. The bifacial design captures sunlight on both sides and the new N-type TOPCon cells deliver up to 25% conversion efficiency, so you generate more usable power per minute of sunlight than older monofacial panels. Best suited to mid-sized power stations such as the EcoFlow RIVER 3 Plus, RIVER 3 Max Plus, and DELTA 3 Plus, and compatible with most other power stations using the XT60i input.

EcoFlow 160W Lightweight Portable Solar Panel set up outdoors charging a power station

Lightweight, Foldable, and Travel-Ready

At 3.8kg, the 160W panel is built for life on the road. Folded, it slides into the boot of a car, the back of a campervan, or alongside the rest of your camping gear without taking up space. Pull it out, unfold it, set the integrated stand, and start charging within seconds. No screws, no separate stands, no extra cables to dig out of a bag.

Bifacial Design Captures More Light

Unlike traditional one-sided panels, the bifacial design captures sunlight on both the front and rear surfaces. Set the panel up on a reflective surface (light gravel, sand, snow, or a pale tarp) and the rear cells pick up reflected and ambient light, boosting total energy output. In real-world conditions, this means you generate more from the same amount of sun than a comparable monofacial panel.

EcoFlow 160W solar panel TOPCon technology with up to 25% conversion efficiency

25% Conversion Efficiency with TOPCon Cells

The new N-type TOPCon monocrystalline silicon cells deliver up to 25% conversion efficiency, which means more of every ray of sunlight that hits the panel becomes usable power for your power station. For NZ users, this translates to faster top-ups even on overcast or cooler days, where less efficient panels struggle to keep up.

EcoFlow 160W solar panel adjustable kickstand 30 to 60 degrees

30 to 60 Degree Adjustable Stand and Angle Guide

The folding integrated bracket adjusts from 30 to 60 degrees, suitable for NZ's mid-latitude sun angles all year round. The built-in solar angle guide helps you line the panel up at a 90 degree angle to the sun for maximum output. No extra apps or tools needed, just look at the indicator and tilt until it shows perfect alignment.

Not recommended for permanent outdoor mounting or hanging on vehicles long-term. For permanent installations on roofs or walls, use rigid solar panels instead.

IP68 Rated for NZ Weather

With an IP68 rating, the panel surface is fully protected against dust ingress and can handle heavy rain, splashes, and brief immersion. Ideal for unpredictable Kiwi weather, beach trips, freedom camping, and bach use. As with all panels in this range, avoid leaving the connector area submerged or in standing water.

EcoFlow 160W Lightweight Portable Solar Panel durable and water-resistant design

Built-in XT60 Cable for a Tidy Setup

The integrated XT60i-F output cable stays attached to the panel and folds away neatly when not in use, so there is no separate cable to lose, untangle, or pack. When you arrive at camp, just pull the cable out, plug it into your power station, and start charging. The official cable length is approximately 2.5 metres, which is enough to position the panel a short distance from your power station while keeping the setup tidy.

Pairs Well with Mid-Sized Power Stations

The 160W output is well matched to mid-sized portable power stations like the EcoFlow RIVER 3 Plus and the EcoFlow DELTA 3 Plus, where 160W of solar input gives a meaningful daily top-up without overkill. It is also compatible with most other power stations that accept an XT60i input, including third-party brands using the same connector.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which EcoFlow power stations is the 160W panel best suited to?

The 160W output is well matched to mid-sized power stations like the EcoFlow RIVER 3 Plus and EcoFlow DELTA 3 Plus, as well as the wider RIVER 3 Max and Max Plus range. It will charge larger DELTA series units too, but you may want a 220W or 400W panel for the bigger DELTA models if you need faster top-ups.

Will it work with non-EcoFlow power stations?

Yes, the panel uses an XT60i-F connector and is compatible with most third-party portable power stations that accept an XT60i input. Always check your power station's input specs (voltage range, current, and connector type) before purchasing to confirm compatibility.

Is it suitable for freedom camping, vanlife, and weekend trips?

Yes. At 3.8kg and folded down to fit in a campervan boot or behind a ute seat, it is a solid choice for freedom camping, vanlife, weekend trips, beach days, and bach use. The IP68 rating handles unexpected showers and the integrated stand removes the need for separate accessories.

Can I leave the panel set up outside permanently?

No. EcoFlow specifically advises against long-term outdoor mounting, hanging on vehicles, or permanent fixed installations. For roof, wall, or vehicle-mounted setups, use a rigid solar panel instead. The lightweight portable panel is designed to be set up, used, and packed away.

Does the panel come with a carry case or extension cable?

No. The 160W Lightweight panel ships with the panel and built-in XT60i-F output cable only. There is no protective carry case, no extension lead, and no MC4 adapter included. EcoFlow's new lightweight range uses an XT60i-F connector rather than the older MC4 standard, which means previous EcoFlow extension cables and MC4 adapter leads are not compatible. EcoFlow has not yet released an official XT60i-F extension cable, so plan your setup around the built-in cable length. If you need a longer reach to your power station, contact us before purchase and we can advise on options.
