Overview

The EcoFlow 400W Lightweight Portable Solar Panel is the most powerful panel in the lightweight foldable range, delivering up to 445W of output under BNPI conditions and generating enough energy to meaningfully top up large power stations like the EcoFlow DELTA 3 Max Plus and the EcoFlow DELTA Pro 3 throughout the day from a single panel. With 400W of solar input, these units can receive a substantial daily charge without needing mains power, making this panel a practical solar solution for motorhome owners, off-grid setups, and serious freedom campers.

Despite its output, the 400W Lightweight is 5.8kg lighter than EcoFlow's previous 400W model, now weighing only 10.2kg. It folds down to 659 x 967 x 36mm for storage in a campervan, motorhome boot, or garage. The bifacial N-type TOPCon cells deliver up to 25% conversion efficiency, the built-in XT60i-F cable plugs directly into compatible power stations, and the three-position stand (30°, 45°, 60°) with integrated solar angle guide makes positioning straightforward in any season.

Lightweight, Foldable, and More Powerful Than Ever

At 10.2kg, the 400W Lightweight is 5.8kg lighter than EcoFlow's previous 400W model, making it practical to carry and transport without a dedicated trolley or two people. Folded down to 659 x 967 x 36mm, it fits in the boot of a motorhome, the back of a ute, or alongside other gear in a campervan. Unfold it, select your stand angle, plug in the built-in XT60i cable, and start charging.

Bifacial Design Captures More Light

The bifacial design captures sunlight on both front and rear surfaces. Set the panel up on a reflective surface such as light gravel, sand, snow, or a pale tarp and the rear cells pick up reflected and ambient light, pushing output up to 445W under BNPI test conditions. In practice, this means more energy generated per hour of sunlight than a comparable monofacial panel of the same wattage.

25% Conversion Efficiency with TOPCon Cells

N-type TOPCon monocrystalline silicon cells deliver up to 25% conversion efficiency, among the highest available in a portable foldable panel. For NZ users this translates to more usable power even on overcast or cooler days, where older PERC-technology panels deliver noticeably less output.

Built-in XT60i Cable for a Tidy Setup

The integrated XT60i-F cable stays attached to the panel and folds away neatly when not in use. No loose cables to manage. Plug directly into your power station's XT60i solar input port and start charging. The built-in cable is approximately 2.5m, giving enough reach to keep your power station in the shade while the panel faces the sun.

Three-Position Stand and Solar Angle Guide

The 400W panel uses a sturdy three-position integrated stand with fixed angles at 30°, 45°, and 60°, suited to NZ's varying sun angles throughout the year. The built-in solar angle guide helps you select the best angle for the time of day and season. Adjust once in the morning, check again at midday, and the panel handles the rest.

Not recommended for permanent outdoor mounting or hanging on vehicles long-term. For permanent installations on roofs or walls, use rigid solar panels instead.

IP68 Rated for NZ Weather

With an IP68 rating the panel surface is fully protected against dust ingress and handles heavy rain, splashes, and brief immersion. Built for unpredictable Kiwi weather, coastal use, and bach setups. As with all panels in this range, avoid leaving the junction box and connector area submerged or in standing water.

Pairs Well with Large Power Stations

The 400W output is best matched to large capacity power stations where the higher solar input makes a meaningful difference to daily charge. Top picks are the EcoFlow DELTA 3 Max Plus (1000W solar input, 2048Wh) and the EcoFlow DELTA Pro 3 (3600W solar input, 4096Wh). A single 400W panel paired with either unit provides a strong daily solar top-up without needing mains power for regular use.

Frequently Asked Questions

Should I get the 400W or step down to a 220W panel?

Choose the 400W if you run a DELTA 3 Max Plus, DELTA Pro 3, or another large-capacity power station daily and want the fastest possible solar top-up from a single panel. Step down to the EcoFlow 220W Lightweight Portable Solar Panel if you have a smaller power station, want a lighter panel for tramping or solo camping, or just need a daily top-up rather than a full recharge.

What connector does the 400W panel use and how long is the cable?

The panel uses a built-in XT60i-F connector with an integrated cable of approximately 2.5m. It plugs directly into the XT60i solar input port on compatible EcoFlow power stations. It is also compatible with most third-party power stations that accept an XT60i input, but check your power station's voltage and current specifications before connecting.

Why isn't my panel generating power?

First, check that the connection is correct and the terminals are tight. Then check environmental conditions, including sunlight strength and panel angle, since the panel needs direct sunlight to generate full power. If the panel still generates no power after ruling these out, contact us and we can help troubleshoot or arrange a warranty claim.

Can I leave the panel set up outside permanently?

No. EcoFlow advises against long-term outdoor mounting, hanging on vehicles, or permanent fixed installations. For roof, wall, or vehicle-mounted permanent setups, use a rigid solar panel instead. The lightweight portable panel is designed to be set up, used, and packed away.

Does the panel come with a carry case or extension cable?

No. The 400W Lightweight panel ships with the panel and its built-in XT60i-F output cable only. There is no carry case, no extension lead, and no MC4 adapter included. EcoFlow has confirmed that no official extension cable is currently available for this panel. Plan your setup around the built-in 2.5m cable length. If you need more reach, contact us before purchasing and we can advise on options.
